PDF of good math podcast sites - 0 views

  •
This pdf has good sites for math podcasts, one of which I posted earlier tonight. An excellent resource, I think, for a math teacher interested in introducing podcasting into their classroom.

Ideas for podcasting in the classroom - 1 views

Great site for ideas on how to introduce podcasting in the classroom, if the concept is new to the teacher. Includes what podcasts are (we know that already!) and then some good examples and ideas are offered.

this site looks great for "hooking " kids when they come into class by getting them thinking right away in a math, logical way. i plan on bookmarking it for myself and looking at it more in depth later!

This site has tips for how to effectively and efficiently run podcasts for students in the classroom. I found it good because I know hopelessly little about podcasts!

"Our Webquests" - 0 views

  •
This is a page of webquests from different elementary schools across the country, from what I can tell. They are organized by month, and vary in topic/subject. I clicked on several of them and they were really cool. I thought I would put this up here for the aspiring elementary school teachers in our class! Enjoy!

Math WebQuests - 0 views

This page has some really cool ideas for math projects on a variety of topics: personal finance, quilting, impact of trash and recycling on a community, geometry scavenger hunt, to name a few. Appears to be from a k to 12 school, I'm gleaning from the web url address (in North Carolina?). I'll need to research it to see where it comes from.

Mrs. Glosser's Math Webquests - 0 views

  •
This is a site which is obviously started by a teacher in mathematics, she has several different examples of webquests on this site (one was pi day, which students can celebrate on march 14: 3/14). Great ideas and some of the topics were tagged "new" in bright yellow, so she obviously updates this webquest site from time to time.

Applying Bloom's Taxononomy - 0 views

  •
This is a great site that talks about the three learning domains of students: cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude) and phychomotor (skills). I learned a lot reading this and found it insightful.
  •
This site explains the need for certain revisions to Bloom's Taxonomy because fifty + years have passed since its original inception and teaching methods, learning styles and such ave changed drastically in that time. This site discusses a revision of the taxonomy which combines the cognitive and knowledge domains into systems which help teachers individualize instruction and best serve the needs and learning styles of students.

texas instruments site for activities in technology for all classrooms - 0 views

  •
this site is really cool - it has activities designed to integrate technology into lessons for a miriad of subjects, most activities suggested and typed up by teachers themselves. i would imagine most technology involves the texas instruments calculator which has undergone a significant revolution in the past few years. nonetheless, i look forward to researching this further to be able to add more information for you all!

figure this! - 0 views

this is a site, again for math teachers, sponsored by nctm (national council of teachers of mathematics). similar to the cool math site i mentioned earlier, but this site because of its affiliation with nctm, certainly would be up to snuff as far as national standards are concerned and reinforcing mathematics which are included in the national standards. i have not researched or used this site as much as the cool math, but it looks good!

this is a site for math teachers, students and/or their families. great for students who might be struggling with math or their interest in math class. there are links for students, teachers or parents, as well as puzzles and games, advice for how to reduce frustration or boredom in math, etc. great site for math teachers to know about!! seems to cover topics from prealgebra through trigonometry.
