    1. There should be a democatization of a choice in technology. Dr. Hairston quoted a student to something of the effect " Teach me where I am not where you were." Shouldn't the students have a say in what technologies they need and find useful. Teachers should also have a voice. I know what I need in my room. I am quite sure that no one on the Board does. Let me have a say and a voice in what I need and what.

    2. There should be no unfunded mandates. It is all well and good to talk about incorporating technology, but if there is one working computer in my computer lab out of every 10 and it cannot effectivly use the latest software then we have paved the road to hell with good intentions. The technology must be in place before anything.

    3. There must be a comprehensive support systems for this technology. Usually staff development means a sideshow of what a technology is capable of and that is it. No support is given on a daily basis or indepth training, much less time to incoporate it in the classrooms or departments.

Project Based Learning is nothing new but the technology available to achieve it has greatly increased. The technolgy I would use it implament it includes wikis, The Promethean Board systems and Videio and Voice Thread. I would create the Wiki as a central point of contact to let the student know what the project entailed, allow them to know what they are expected to accomplish and keep in comnctact with them about how things are progressing. I assume they would also use it to keep in contact with each other as well.

I would like to use the Promethean Board System as the final end product of the project because it has many applications and if a student is not interested in the subject they might be drawn to the creative or technological aspects of a project. Thus the content information would be aquired as a secondary function, but would be aquired.

As a secondary end product for the project I would like to allow the students to create a project on vVdeo orVoice Thread. There are some students who are just better creating something visual or auditory and I am sure learn more working in that environment.

Webinars allow students to speak though the technology so they would not be as intimidated talking to an expert as they would face to face. Proper preperation of the class for a webinar would also allow they students to be successful. For example, making each student or a group of students reserch an aspect of the webinar and develop a series of questions or a direction of conversation would greatly improve their self confidence and content knowlege. Having fun with their friends would be an aspect of this preperation as would the interaction with the technology.

The Eluminator Live which is a Webinar would work best in my classroom. I am in a trailer and the technology must be wheeled in and out every period. This technology allows the class the reach out to other people and techologies, expanding the capabilities of the classroom beyond the hardware that is in the classroom.

Digital Natives vs. Digital Immigrants while seemingly a great divide in terms of learning, is a problem every generation has faced and overcome. As new technolgies evolve, there are people who have aquireded the technology through hard work and refinement all the time having already masterered an older technology, and those that have learned the technology firsthand and will most likely have to aquire a newer technology later in life. The issue is not if one generation or another learn one way or another but can the older generation relearn itself and pass that ability on to the newer gerneration.
