Education is the great equalizer, the means to enable any child to realize the American dream. Children in America today, however receive vastly unequal educational experiences and opportunities due to substantial differences in funding between schools. This barrier prevents too many children in poor areas from realizing their potential, leading to ever more economic inequality in our society.

The Goal of OpenGoo is to bundle many already successful OpenSource projects to build a simple to install package that would provide all the basic communications, collaboration and productivity tools needed at most organizations.

The Wikimedia Foundation, Wikieducator and Kaltura have partnered in order to bring rich media collaboration to Wikipedia, WikiEducator, other Wikimedia projects, and any Wiki using the MediaWiki software. With the launch of this joint venture, users are invited to test new functionality that will enable Wiki pages to include collaboratively created video, audio, animation, and slideshows as well as text and images.
