How to Find What Clicks in the Classroom - 0 views

  • it's going to take a long time for academe to figure out what to do with all the technology it already has
  • If an institution truly wishes to encourage innovations in its curriculum, it must devote resources to those innovations.
  • IT-staff members with teaching experience and an understanding of the mission of liberal-arts education need a place in which to demonstrate the latest technologies. And they need both space and time to help professors develop new types of lessons, assignments, and grading methods that can fundamentally change how teaching and learning happen.

  • But that is how IT-staff members must help in the development of teaching methods for the wired world. They are the ones who should try out the newest technologies, winnow out the fads or the tools that can't be adapted for use by thousands or millions of students, and figure out how to align the best tools with the best teaching methods. Without that experimentation, the instruction we offer will never be truly innovative.

See--just because they're young doesn't mean they know everything digital!
  • others in the class would respond with notes encouraging the student to raise the topic out loud.

      Citizenship!
  • I’m not a full-time faculty member,” he said. “I use my classrooms as an applied-research lab to decide what to promote as new solutions for our campus.”
    • Sarah Hanawald

All ed tech people should think of themselves this way and keep teaching in "applied-research labs"

  • He couldn’t get two screens, so he had students bring in their laptops

Skip the screens and the laptops and go straight to the phones :-)

Is encouraging a "back-stream" of communication helpful or counter-productive in class?
  •
What about trying this during a faculty meeting at school? Probably using cover it live instead of twitter just to make it accessible to all. I really like the notion that when Ed Tech faculty teaches, it should be a lab environment.

flex pcb layers - 0 views

  •
Flex PCB A flexible board is made of flexible insulating material, which has many advantages that a rigid printed circuit board does not have. For example, it can be freely tortuous, winding, and folding, can be arbitrarily organized according to the spatial layout requirements, and can be arbitrarily moved and expanded in three-dimensional space, and then reach the integration of components and wire connections. Using FPC can greatly reduce the volume of electronic products, suitable for electronic products with high density, miniaturization, and high reliable direction development needs. Therefore, FPC has been widely used in aerospace, military, mobile communications, portable computers, computer peripherals, PDA, digital cameras, and other categories or products. Fastlink can provide high-quality flexible circuit board manufacturing and assembly services.
