I'm sure everyone is familiar with this site, but I think we may sometimes take that fact for granted as Edutopia is a great site to find information, strategies, address a problem or get idea on how to make things work better. The information is presented in an easy to understand way that makes it especially helpful when you are venturing into unknown waters.

I always find myself starting with this website when asked to research. I like the articles I find here because they are relatively short and to-the-point. Also, the research is current and valid. Edutopia is a great start and resource for fresh information in education.

Videos, Common Core Resources And Lesson Plans For Teachers: Teaching Channel - 5 views

  •
This is hands dow my favorite teaching related website. I am very much a visual learner; therefore, the video testimonials posted for most suggested strategies or lessons help me tremendously. One of my most successful experiences with theTeaching Channel came from watching a video title "Socratic Seminar: The 'N-Word.'" It transformed the way I conduct socratic seminars in my classroom.

This is an excellent resource. I am glad to see that there are other visual learners like me. I feel that instructors are always on a search to find new ideas and get their students involved and I love this site. I do not teach, but I work with faculty and resources to better enhance their classroom are always required! I am going to watch some of the videos later to get some ideas!

Have the students solve the answer to, "How much would you pay if you were allowed to pay as much or as little as you wanted given the certain price of an item" that you have posted to a blog or website you have created. Make them back up their work through an uploaded file of their scratch work OR maybe even a video presentation of what they did!

AAA Math - 0 views

This is a free math website with no logins required. I especially like to use it for math fact practice. You can pick which facts to test, and then have students race to see how many they can do in a certain time and try to beat their personal best. I also like to put it on the Smartboard and have students compete as a class to beat the class's best time. It's very basic which makes it easy to implement.
