    Great article Jenni. I have saved it into my Mendeley app with other resources for my dissertation! As the authors stated, we are definitely shifting toward more autonomous learners. I am still trying to wrap my mind around Siemens' comment that, "The learning is the network."

Cator goes into depth on the topic of personal learning environments. She says that PLEs bring in "the long tail of student experiences and interests."     The author of this article, Ilona Buchem, is a co-author of a PLE study titled Understanding Personal Learning Environments: Literature review and synthesis through the Activity Theory Lens. In the study the authors propose a framework they call the Activity Theory Triangle. The theory attempts to define the main dimensions of a PLE in order to study their impact.
