This was a great project introduce students to how to get an internship or full-time job using Klout scores. Students were able engage with other, via social media, and familiarize themselves regarding Klout scores. This was a very enjoyable project and the students were very enthusiastic about the project.

Students were supposed to put the title of the class into action and they were to pick a cause or issue that they cared about and use social media. This was a great way to have the students actually see what was out there and to get involved rather than just learn from books.

Hotseat was created by Purdue University to allow students to Twitter and text messages during and after class. The conclusion was that there was more interaction, more engaging, and resulted in higher-performing students.

This Facebook project could be used for a Science, History, Geography, Foreign Language, Math, or English class. The idea is for the students to create a Facebook page but for something they might be learning about. It is a fun and innovative way for the students to look up facts and represent them in a way that they can relate to.

There were many great project ideas on this side but to get to the one I want you to look at scroll down to "Social Mobility" audio blogging. The group audio blogging activity had the student compare and then post their results using a VoiceThread. They were able to combine visual and recorded media and they had to think carefully about what they wanted to record.

This is just an idea for integrating social media into the classroom but the homework has been done and there are some great details regarding the project. This project would make it possible for students, parent, educators, and such to be able to keep updated by using social media.

The Curation Project made students research and step outside of their comfort zone to experiences different types of social media. They were able to learned how to track and were able to see how they can share with other countries as well as "break the walls of the classroom".

Project K-Nect provided smartphones to allow students to communicate and collaborate with teachers, tutors, and other students. This technology allowed the students the ability to master math skills and knowledge.

The PenPal News project was able to engage students and relate it to their own lives. Incorporating technology to change old school pen pals helps students connect from different states.

Allowing students to use their cell phones as a means of learning plus providing them with social networks give them a reason to go to school.

Introduction of Digital Connectivism and it's impact on learning. This article focuses on the impacts in English Language Teaching. It defines connectivism, states the principles, and relates it to English Language Teaching.

"Only student who have a desire to learn will learn". We strive to make students life-long learners. This article defines the main characteristics of CoP as "The Domain", "The Community", and "The Practices". It gives examples of strengths and weaknesses, how it associates with the Constructivism Theory, and how to integrate with technology.

The article discussed "connected learning communities" and how it is relevant in the digital age. There are three components (professional learning communities (PLCs), personal learning network (PLNs), and communities of practice (CoPs)) with these communities and different theories, experience and knowledge, effectiveness, anticipates growth or decline, challenges and dilemmas, and use of technology within each component.

PLN have been around forever but now we use technology to help increase those who can be involved. Most of the Personal Learning Networks are online and we can communicate with others from around the world. This article gives examples of how to use a PLN and how to build your own.

Due to mobile world there are new types of learners. They might already know social networking but do they really know how to manage and use this correctly? They need to be taught to deal with information overload, provide information back into a network, and learn how to stay current.
