This site has many different opportunities to learn about weather, ocean and tsunamis. The first thing I checked out was a ride on a plane through a hurricane. How often do you get that kind of opportunity. It allows you to see the basic structure of a hurricane and where it produces its rain.
To give you some other fun you can be a crab fisherman and try your luck at catching crab on an Alaskan crab boat. I thought this was pretty slick considering I am really into the show on Discovery channel called Deadliest Catch.

I think the best part is the Tsunami interactive. You are standing on a beach and get to experience a full tsunami with the large wave crashing over you. Not to mention the complete destruction of houses and other structures. It really allows you to see what happens during a tsunami and why people would be fascinated with the tide going out and exposing land never seen before.

I had the opportunity to visit this world as well.. I did not ride the plane, but I did go down in the submarine. It was great to maneuver it around and see the underwater world. I plan to go back and check out the Tsunami. This site would really benefit students who are used to only minimal weather patterns. For example: We live in the desert. We get extreme hot and extreme cold. The students do not often understand the true devastation of a Tsunami or hurricane. Now if it simulated an earthquake they may be able to relate. Now there's an idea!
