The discussion leaders of next week may have already heard about this simulation tool, but, in any case, I wanted to post it here for everyone's attention. To be honest, I have not explored it yet, but it seems promising. :)

You can use this wheel while choosing the appropriate apps when designing your PDs. I planned to print this and distribute it after my presentation, but its better to put it here and don't waste papers :)

"Blended learning can be implemented in many unique ways, generally using a combination of one or more of the following models." says the website. I think every teacher willing to be more "techno-minded" should be familiar with these models.

This is not related with this week's topic, yet I found it interesting. SAMR is a framework for integrating technology into the classroom. It may help to assess ourselves as teachers while designing our learning activities.

My gut feelings tell me that this list is somewhat incomplete despite its exhaustive coverage. Nevertheless, I found it good enough to share. :) You may follow the embedded links under each skill in order to explore each in-depth.

You probably came across the famous quote by Dr. Ray Clifford saying "Technology will not replace teachers, but teachers who do not use technology will be replaced." Well, that might change sooner than we had anticipated. Some companies have been working very hard for several years to manufacture real-time translation devices like the one mentioned in the article attached. Although most of the attempts are too immature to be taken seriously, I think we will have devices in the next decade that are able to translate satisfactorily across languages. Whether this will have a tangible impact on language teaching professionals is yet to be seen.

The author of this article tries to answer why so many teachers are resistant to mobile devices in their classrooms although their students tend to believe that smartphones and laptops can assist their learning. After reading the text, I realized how social attitude toward mobile learning can be a decisive factor in terms of its integration into education.

A survey result suggesting that "4 Out of 5 Students think that Digital Learning Technology Has a Positive Impact on Their Grades"

"The classroom of the future probably won't be led by a robot with arms and legs, but it may be guided by a digital brain." This is a good infrographic about the use of SM in schools. It gives some benefits of SM and also there are some teaching ideas with SM.

A TED talk by Harry Dyer, a Digital Sociologist at the university of East Anglia. In the video, he discusses how we can better understand the youth and their relationships with SM tools through SM and how we should integrate their skills into the classroom.
