As educators, the use of Web 2.0 tools is transforming our work, and more specifically the way we support students in the classroom. As schools bring more technology into their classrooms, teachers will in turn strive to put more technology in their students' hands. That is, if they are prepared to do so. Here are some Web 2.0 tool that can be easly adapted to education.

Benefits and dangers of social media in education

Mine, thank you very much for sharing this link. In my classrooms, the most frequent problems I come across are unoriginal thinking, plagiarism, and cheating. Although social media tools are amazing in that they are up to date, I have doubts on their effects on critical thinking skills of the students. Another case is informality, of course. The tools do limit the vocabulary the students use. I guess the problems that I listed are interconnected in some way. In short, we can conclude that the speed to reach, and the brevity of information the Internet and social media provide push students to be shallow in many respects. It's up to us as teachers to utilize the tools in the best way possible.

The flipped classroom describes a reversal of traditional teaching where students gain first exposure to new material outside of class, usually via reading or lecture videos, and then class time is used to do the harder work of assimilating that knowledge through strategies such as problem-solving, discussion or debates.

This week we are going to look at how we can use flipped classroom in our classrooms - as a teacher. This link provides a student perspective to this technology.

This qualitative study was conducted to gain insights into the perceptions of prospective English language teachers at a state university in Turkey on flipped classrooms and to introduce the implementation of a flipped classroom into an English language class. The results were interesting and there are useful recommendations for implementing flipped language lessons.

"the secret words" idea seems to be very creative. I wonder how it is implemented. I also wish we could be able to learn what they do in the classroom in this specific example. I really wonder how classroom activities work in flipped elt classes.

Thanks for starting this. Many Flipped initiatives are failing due to lack of planning and limited pedagogical approaches. Should avoid implementing it because it is a fashion but focus more on its pedagogical value.

It is one flipped classroom case from Turkish school. A social science teacher used flipped classroom model and it is one of the best application of fliiped classroom.

From this infographic, it can be concluded that flipped learning method can be adopted by teachers for all age groups, it can be applied for all education levels, and it bring positive outcomes such as increased student engagement and improved grades.

This website is really beneficial because you can apply flipped method and then you can record your video and post here. Then the members can watch and give feedback. Also there are some videos showing this.You need to be member for this website but I think it worths.

This website is mentioned in the readings of this week. Actually the mentioned one is in Harvard University; however, this one is in Temple College, but the method is the same. Terry Austin is the professor in the class and he and the students talk about Learning Catalytics. It is good to watch video and also there data before LC and after LC which shows the success raising.

This infographic presents comprehensive information about flipped classrooms. Before I saw this infographic, I did not know how this new learning model emerged. It is great to see that two high school teachers leaded this model.
