Purpose of the Website: Glogster is a tool that allows the user to create an interactive poster on various topics. It allows student to express their creativity with many tools that are available to them. Grade Level: 4-12 Classroom Connection: Glogster would be a great introduction activity at the beginning of the school year. Students could create an interactive poster about themselves, as an introduction to their new classmates.

Purpose of the Website: Students can get photographs from their favorite website and creatively edit the photos. This website is free. It does not require any downloads or registration. It is also available for the Android, so that would be a great way to introduce the tool in your classroom if you do not have access for the students to go to the computer lab. Students can upload a photo, apply photo or artist effects, insert frames, perform translations and reflections, etc. Grade Level: K-12 Classroom Connection: This would be a perfect tool for the art teacher that is looking to incorporate technology into their curriculum. Using this resource, art teachers can incorporate art and math by having students select a picture and create an artistic view on that photograph, as well as incorporating translations into the piece as well.

Purpose of the Website: Screencastle is an easy tool to create screencasts using the Internet. The user can record animation on their computer and view it back in a video format. All you have to do is select the area of your computer screen that you would like to record and decide if you would like to record from a microphone as well. Grade Level: 7-12 Classroom Connection: Some way that this tool can be used include: - Offering an orientation to a new class - Presenting lessons to the class - Provide feedback for student work - Allow students to share work Negatives of this Website: Java is not working properly on all classroom computers in the district so there is some difficulty with this website since it is Java based.

Purpose of the Website: This is an enhanced presentation tool that allows the user to create a multimedia, internet-based presentation. The user can also incorporate video, pictures, and narrations in each slide. One of the great things is that users can insert YouTube videos within the presentation. Grade Level: 7-12 Classroom Connection: Students can create a presentation to go along with a research project they are working on, including various multimedia that they found during their research, or that they have created to enhance the presentation. When doing autobiographies with students, this would be a great tool for students to upload family videos from when they were younger. Negatives of this Website: There may be issues with particular videos that are blocked with district filters. I also have trouble with some video applications on my classroom computer at times. This would be an important lesson to show students that they should test their presentations before sharing them.

Purpose of the Website: This is an unbelievable tool for introducing the research process to students. The website is particularly helpful for the visual learner. Students can explore different ways to plan their research, search for information, take notes and use the information they find. Grade Level: 3-8 Classroom Connection: Using this website as a learning tool, students can use guided inquiry to develop a plan for research. Students could also use the information on this website to participate in a webquest in which they need to develop a "research guide" for their district to help new students understand how to perform a research project.

Professional- K-12 Tool to measure the Lexile reading level of given text. Cut and paste or type in a portion of a text and the tool will analyze and give the readablity of the text. Classroom Connections: Teachers- use to to ensure students are reading the appropriate text for their reading levels.

This site can be used by teachers to help plan engaging and interactive science lessons and give students necessary resources to go along with lessons. Students will receive interacitve activities to help reinforce conepts.

Grades K-12 A resource for lesson plans, interactive games and activiities, tools and professional development for all subjects. This site can be used to help deliver engaging and interacive lessons. teachers can find great professional development hours.

Grades 3-12 A great resource or tool to learn how to create screencasts. This site can be used by teachers and students as a tutorial of how to create scrrencasts for specific projects.

Grade level- 7-12 CC- This site is filled with links to sites relating to ancient cultures, webquest and much more. This could serve as a review tool for students. Overview- Filled with many resources relating to Anicent Cultures that range from Mesopotamia to the Aztecs. It is very interactive with hosting virtual tours. Cons- Since the site has a lot of infomation it might become a distraction to students.

Grade level- 7-12 CC- Student can use the site to orgnize vocabulary words or phrases when reviewing for a unit. Overview- site allows a user to create a platform for them to see their ideas. Great organizational tool. Cons- Might need some time getting used too.

Grade level- 7-12 CC- Students can review voicethreads from the site using a rubric as a form of review and report on their findings. Overview- A global collaboration tool that allows a user to respond 5 different ways to a presentation that includes pictures, video and images. Cons- Need parents and district permission

Grade level- 9-12 CC- After a unit on Rome, students can use the site to their own interpretation of their favorite Roman Emperor. Overview- Students can use the free site to bring their imagination about a person, concept, or idea alive by using the design tools to create a drawing/cartoon. Cons- Not every student has access to the internet.

Purpose of the Website: This wonderful tool helps students to correctly develop a source cited for information taken from books, websites, newspapers, magazines, journals and film. The easy to use forms allow the user to input all of the important components of the sources they used. This information is then generated into a list in the appropriate format for all the sources used. You can also search for resource online and the form will automatically be filled in for you. Grade Level: 2-12 Classroom Connection: When completing research projects, many students have difficulty citing their sources in the correct format. This website helps students to correctly list their sources. This can be introduced to students along with the introduction for research either in the library or in the computer lab.

This is an online resource for lesson preparation.

This site is accessible by all, but if you want to unlock all that it has, you must purchase a subscription. There still is a lot to be accessed for free though. I really like the fonts that they use. Check out their holiday lessons. They teach the history of holidays-such as Valentine's Day. The Valentine's Day activities have been very interesting to my ninth graders over the past few years. You may be surprised to find out all that you don't know. K-12

3-12 Students and teachers can create an online poster and also collarborate. Con: Everyone must register to use and must watch for bullying.

3-12 Teachers and students can collarborate over a public live document. You can invite others to be apart of this experience and its all FREE, no limits. Cons: No limits, must monitor students.
