Purpose of the Website: Students can get photographs from their favorite website and creatively edit the photos. This website is free. It does not require any downloads or registration. It is also available for the Android, so that would be a great way to introduce the tool in your classroom if you do not have access for the students to go to the computer lab. Students can upload a photo, apply photo or artist effects, insert frames, perform translations and reflections, etc. Grade Level: K-12 Classroom Connection: This would be a perfect tool for the art teacher that is looking to incorporate technology into their curriculum. Using this resource, art teachers can incorporate art and math by having students select a picture and create an artistic view on that photograph, as well as incorporating translations into the piece as well.

Grades 3-8 This site provides free maps, photos, videos and daily news stories, as well as articles and features about animals, the environment, cultures, and other science topics. Teachers can use this site to reinforce concepts and topics. Students can use this site to help research specific scientific topics.

Grade Level: 6-12 Create free online video, music and photo mashups. This website is great for the video production enthusiast on the go. This can not only be used in a video production classroom, but for almost any other subject as well.

Grade Level: K-12 Classroom Connection: Students can access a variety of photographs for digital storytelling or research projects. These photographs would also be a perfect multimedia addition to presentations that students are creating. Negatives of this Website: There is a limited selection of the photographs available for use.

3-12 Students and teachers can create an online poster and also collarborate. Con: Everyone must register to use and must watch for bullying.

3-12 Teachers and students can create or search voicethreads. Images, videos, documents can be uploaded and students can collarborate and/or add comments to voicethreads. Cons: must register and limited access for Free version.

This is a great resource that covers all assets of video production. I find that a number of my students come across this resource on their own every year when studying for quizzes or needing a quick refresher on any given topic. Contains many great photos and examples as well. Quizzes are available for teachers who would like to take advantage of that option.

This is a good resource for the teacher who would like their class to create a video slide show of various images. This might be a better option than using Windows Movie maker for some teachers. Students can access their video at home whether they have a PC or a Mac.

Grade level- 9-12 CC- Students can use the site to create a visual slideshow as part of a learning assessment for a unit like the Crusades. Overview- Students can take their own video and pictures and make stunning slideshows. Also they can incoroporate music too. Cons- Might need some time getting used too.

This website is great for the person that would like to make a dynamic video slideshow. Animoto takes your photos and arranges them to the beat, rhythm, etc. of the song of your choice. Great for any student who would like to create a professional looking slideshow in a fraction of the time.

Purpose of the Website: This search engine allows students to search by subject, not only for a picture they are interested in, but also for images that might be relevant to that subject. For example, if you search for cows, you will see images related to farms, cattle, grass, etc. Grade Level: K-12 Classroom Connection: Since April is National Poetry month, poetry would be a great way to incorporate this website into your classroom. Students can choose a subject that interests them. When they search for that topic, students can choose one of the pictures that comes up in the search results and create a poem that is based around that picture. This will help students to take their subject and think outside the box.
