This is an interactive game that teaches fractions. Students learn about the many ways a fraction, and in this case one-half, can be represented. This game is part of the PBS Kids Cyberchase collection of pages. PBS Kids is a very helpful site the provides many features for students, teachers, and parents.

This article points to the importance of proper teacher training and use of technology to garner student academic achievement. Students need to have the technology tools accessible to them to be sucessful. Test data needs to be collected (from programs like TestWiz) in order to identify learning strengths and weaknesses. Finally, the author states that it takes a "community of educators and a host of technology tools" to ensure students meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) standards.

Dipity is a free, online timeliner. For each event created, students can added a description, a picture, an online video, and a map where the event took place. The timeline can be shared and worked on by a group collaboratively. The timeline can also be added to a blog.

If you have an issue or questionrelated to anything involved agriculture, agribusiness, or family and consumer sciences within the state of Georgia, then it's good to turn to the Cooperative Extension Service, based at UGA. My dad was an Extension Agent and they can provide valuable information and hands-on experience to a classroom setting. In fact, that's what they are there for, going out in the field and passing along the research of the university!
