Visit this site for lots of ideas about how to use these programs with your students. Inspiration is a program that makes it possible for students to plan their pre-writing as well as monitor their progress in Writer's Workshop. This is a great site for creating flow charts, as well.

She shared a little about what Inspiration and Kidspiration are - both mind-mapping software applications - and specifically about some of the new features of Kidspiration 3 which includes new symbols, new prepared teacher activities, and a whole math view with new math applications.

Inspiration, InspireData, and Kidspiration are graphic organizing software that is powerful in helping students organize thoughts and data in a visual way. These use mindmapping, visualization, and brainstorming to help students diagram concepts.

My students love using Inspiration but they cannot work on assignments at home since they do not have the software. This site does not have the robustness of Inspiration but it can be used at home and shared between a group.

This is a really nice interactive site providing games and activities for early readers. There is an "ABC's" section for beginning sounds, a "Learn to Read" section that addresses phonics, an "It's Fun to Read" section that provides extention learning activities, and an "I'm Reading" section that inspires young readers through age-appropriate stories.
