I heard some teachers said that in high school, ICT teaching is very limited, and most teachers only use PPT in classes. They think it is not a good phenomenon. But in my personal opinion, PPT is indeed very useful and practical in Chinese high school teaching. Since high school students have very heavy work to do in school, too many discussion on-line or other similar things will be burdens to them. What they need is a direct and easy-to-use way to study knowledge, and PPT is rightly such a tool. Maybe to some teachers, PPT is too dull and not colourful, but i is very practical, and suitable to almost all subjects.

Chinese farmers need technology and information about agriculture, but only a few of the professionals are willingly to come to the countryside and teach those farmers and help them to deal with their problems. So ICT can be a good media to transmit the information and technology to farmers. For instance, They can make DVDs of some agricultural courses or teach on the internet, then farmers can learn by the computers.

Life-long learning means a lasting study, that a person does not stop his learning after his graduation, even thong his old. It's now encouraged by Chinese government, so more and more elders choose a life-long learning style as their life style after retirement. But not all the elders can go to University of the Third Age, because of their physical condition or their apartment far away from universities. To such persons, the only way to learn is using DVDs , VCDs or following television classes. Such ways are convenient, but sometimes the elders think that following DVDs or televisions is not so understandable as following teachers. So we can say that in elder-education, now ICT does not play a useful role. Somebody said that the elders could study on the Internet, and ask questions and discuss with others on-line. But I think it's not feasible, because to most Chinese elders, Internet is far away from their daily life, and do some learning on-line is so difficult that they are even afraid of this kind of study. Then, how ICT can do any beneficial things helping those elders to finish their life-long study?
