Twitter is great for practicing summarization, but Twitter applications also add potential for using Twitter in many more ways in the classroom. 

This article supports my opinion in several ways, I strongly believe in interactive whiteboards aka Smartboards and introducing netbooks and laptops into the education system. I do believe that schools need to buy netbooks for the students and use them like textbooks, you receive it and you keep it in good shape and return it at the end of the year. This would help close the social status gap and equalize opportunities for all students.

This article shows how North Kansas City Schools have started their initiative to acquire a 1:1 student to netbook ration in their high schools. It shows how financial problems restrict a great majority of their students from computer access, which makes the realization of this initiative even more important.

Article looks at disruptive technologies in education - that is those that completely change the market place.  Is online learning for K-12 schools disruptive?

I like the idea of podcasting mainly because it has been tested and it is helping the students to learn and retain information better than they did before they had podcasting.

One of the most interesting articles I've read. This article basically talks about applying podcasts in science classrooms. Podcasts can be compared to Youtube, students are able to hold onto the podcasts of teachers' lectures and they can refer to that in the future for aid. Teachers noticed a significant gain in students' grades using podcasts. Also, when podcasts are used, it can be exchanged among schools and universities so there is a rich seam of information in podcasts.

Sugar activities and the XO operating system can now be run from a flash drive allowing students to transport their operating system, software, and work with them from computer to computer.  Best of all - its free. 

I believe this article is a sneak peek at what the future of education is going to be like. I also like the fact that the students are able to interact with what they are learning. I think it will help them to retain information better.

This article talks about the implications of technology in the grade school setting such as virtual realities, virtual communities etc...

This deals with how companies are dealing with employees commenting on social networking sites. 

This can help students learn about cultures outside of thier community.

Released today, the apple tablet is expected to be somewhat revolutionary in the technology field. I am confident with later revisions or with the current device, educational techniques will in some way be managed with this new and exciting device.

I like the idea of having students bring their own computers to school to work on because their work is always with them and it saves the schools money.

This paper brings to the reader the many facets of bringing or imbedding technology into education from preparing teacher to dealing with the lack of technology.

This paper goes a little more in depth on technology helping students to improve and to achieve their goals.

The Oregon Department of Education approved Google Apps for Education. This will save the state 1.5 million per year.

While I have never twittered, I think it is important to use the technology that students are already using to incorporate technology into the classroom. For me, this is a "whole package" approach, so learning (celebrating an author's birthday, etc.) just becomes part of a daily Twitter routine, instead of something done inside the classroom only.
