Is pitching just a new "sexier" way to make decisions - does it actually achieve educated decision making? What skills are developed in those being pitched too - sounds like the Educational Dragon's Den!

A slide presentation by Doug Belshaw and Tim Riches where they explain how the Mozilla Open Badges can verify and recognize skills and achievements. These are digital and an individual can be display them on various sites, be they job sites, social networking places, websites etc.

People used to say that Steve Jobs was able to create a Reality Distortion Field when he spoke. He had the ability to convince those around him to believe in just about anything, which was both good (they were motivated to achieve things they thought they couldn't) and bad (Jobs would sometimes recall events differently than others did - some might call that lying).

"Digital Information Fluency (DIF) is the ability to find, evaluate and use digital information effectively, efficiently and ethically. DIF involves Internet search skills that start with understanding how digital information is different from print information, knowing how to use specialized tools for finding digital information and strengthening the dispositions needed in the digital information environment. As teachers and librarians develop these skills and teach them to students, students will become better equipped to achieve their information needs."

Some intersting ideas here that examine how to use specialised tools for finding digital information.

Here is a thought, what if we had something similar in the classroom to provide audio feedback to the teacher. Fascinating thought.
