I like how this website allows children to create their own personal webpage easily. It nicely provides step-by-step directions for children to follow. I like how this site would even be appealing for a teacher to use too. I think that children would really enjoy how they are able to use this site to develop their own webpage and use their creativity to make it their own. Also, I love how it does not cost any money to use this site.

Glogster is a site used to create posters online. Users can upload pictures, videos, text, and more the interactive poster. Glogster enables the user to change the font colors and sizes of the text and create borders around the outside of the poster. There is also a educational section geared towards teachers. Teachers can create informative posters to show their students important information. Children can use Glogster to express their creativity. This site allows children to manipulate their posters in any way that they choose. Children can pick different fonts, colors, sizes, pictures, and much more to make their poster their own.

This can be used directly in a classroom. Each student could be assigned to create a poster on Glogster that represents him or her. Children could upload home videos, pictures of themselves, or write things such as their favorite activities. The drawbacks to this is, I feel that this site is not very child-directed. An adult is definitely necessary to help younger children navigate, but for older elementary and middle school, the child would be able to create the poster him or herself. Using Glogster with younger children would require more given from the teachers. Young children would find adding their own personal pictures and videos difficult. To address this challenge, the teacher should only allow the students upload pictures that Glogster provides. These pictures can be accessed with only a click of the mouse.

I believe that children in the upper grades of elementary and in middle school would benefit the most from this tool. The site is somewhat complicated, so a younger child would struggle in uploading the images and videos. An older child would be able to figure these things out easily. For a class of older children, in order to ensure that all children in the class have fair access to this tool, the school computer lab could be reserved. Here, students would be allowed to complete their posters using pictures they could find on the internet. If the child had access to a computer at home, he or she could be allowed to finish the project at home with one of his or her parents.

Few privacy problems occur with this site. The posters can be made public or private, so if the child wants to keep his or her poster to a limited number of views, he or she should make the poster private. This means that the child has to log in to the site in order to show others his or her poster.

This site is used to create a "dancing" piece of art. Children can use their creativity to draw and color. Once finished, their artwork is set to music, and it dances in sync. Others dancing artwork can also be accessed and viewed.
