Tate Kids offers so many outlets for children's imagination and technological abilities. It allows for children to work together and with other classrooms, or schools to create online art projects. They can create drawings, videos, games, or upload other images of artwork. They can discover different styles of art and share their opinions. This website seems appropriate for middle childhood classrooms and older and may be slightly too advanced for younger classrooms. For these younger classrooms, I would suggest a simpler form of online image creation such as SketchSwap. This tool is a component of a the larger resource Tate Online and may be somewhat difficult for children to navigate. Therefore I would suggest having a teacher available for assistance and having direct links to create artwork. I think a really fun project that could be implemented with younger children is to have the children create or upload images and then create a slideshow or video of these images to share with their parents at a class party. It would also be interesting to see older children work together to create a game that relates to a story they have read in class. With Tate Kids there are so many options available to teachers and educators wishing to include more technology into their classroom.
