Discovery Education Web2014 : Web 2.0 Tools - Video Tools - 3 views

Video Tools The Video Tools feature is something I would need to think about using. I have numerous years of video producing, shooting, editing, and narrating. But putting together high quality video presentations is a lot of work, and very time consuming. However, I do understand there are quite a few persons who are "visual learners". For them, I would take the extra time to create video presentations and utilize them here, if needed. I am very interested in the online quiz feature associated with Video Tools. Dave@LaCrosse

Discovery Education Web2014 : Web 2.0 Tools - Community - 2 views

  • Community Tools Community-building and collaboration are two defining aspects of Web 2.0. A range of tools enable teachers and students to communicate, collaborate and share work. Some, like Edmodo, are designed specifically for educators. This Twitter-like tool lets you create custom mini-communities for classes, clubs, parents, etc and push out assignments, reminders and updates. Others, like GoogleDocs, are for general use but conducive to inter- and intra-school collaboration—in real time. All are easy to use. Case in point: a wiki—the Hawaiian word for "quick"—can be set up in 5 minutes!

  • Presentation Tools Show, don't tell Web 2.0 brings a whole new dimension to the old adage "show, don't tell"—and lets you share your presentations anytime, anywhere, with anyone you like. With Web 2.0 you can push the boundaries of traditional presentations, mix things up, and make learning more engaging than ever before.
