I like this article a lot. It keeps me centered on some of the things that we might lose sight of as online teachers amid the swirl of technology.

the whole mind...This link was shared in another class I am taking now at Stout. It is a refreshing look at things easy to forget in the online swirl of technology.

The Myers-Briggs is a wonderful assessment. It has helped me understand myself, the way I learn best, how I process information...a deeper picture of a person than learning styles. I would want my online students to have that same understanding. There are free "take offs" of the instruments online which have given me the same results I have gotten from several complete Myers-Briggs assessments. There are also online pages to help you understand your four letter typology.

The full copy of the eric document is messy at first, but clears up after several pages. This article discusses learning styles based on the Myers-Briggs Typology.

Great instrument for self-understanding about the way you prefer to work, how you learn, and how you process information. I have found it useful knowledge to have in both learning and teaching. I would want my online students to have the same self-knowledge. There are several free "versions" of the assessment online which give me the same information the actual assessment always give me and pages discussing the meaning of your four letter typology.

I have found the Myers-Briggs to be an important self-discovery tool for me and would like my online students to have the advantage of knowing how they relate to peope, how they learn and process information, and how they recharge their batteries. This profile, available in shortened and adapted versions for free online, is deeper than learning styles. There are also links to pages with more information on what their four letter types mean.

These Lectures Are Gone in 60 Seconds - Chronicle.com - 1 views

This looks like an interesting learning tool in combination with discussion boards and individual assignments

Short lectures popular with students in online courses

I agree that learners might have some problems with complex material using what is basically the description of a concept, its vocabulary, and an assignment, but I am sure discussion boards could be set up for questions and timely help.

One to three minute lectures are being used in online instruction to introduce key vocabulary and a single concept before students engage and share a related activity. Skeptics complain that some content just can't be simplified to that degree.
