Sharing our Puzzles of Practice - The Learner's Way - 0 views

  •
Einstein is often quoted as having said "If I have an hour to solve a problem and my life depended on the solution, I would spend the first 55 minutes determining the proper question to ask, for once I know the proper question, I could solve the problem in less than five minutes." Clearly Einstein understood how to attack puzzling problems. As teachers we face a host of puzzles on a daily basis. Every student we teach, thanks to their idiosyncrasies presents a unique puzzle. The interactions between students further complicates things. Our goals for our learners, their learning needs, the demands of the curriculum, pressures from beyond the classroom all result in puzzles for us to manage and to solve.

Connect MacBook to TV or Projector wirelessly - 0 views

  •
:Prijector enables you to set up a wireless presentation or screen mirroring in a few minutes. Rather than connect the MAC to TV with so many wires across the wall, the MacBook to TV connection makes it wireless. This means you do not have to move to where the TV is to do your presentation or long cable running to behind the TV. It is a simple but highly effective technology.

Tools for sharing thinking - The Learner's Way - 1 views

  •
Fortunately there are a number of free tools that do these things and they are available for use on any technology platform as they require nothing more than access to the internet. Recently Eric Sheninger used a set of these tools to give his audience at the Hawker Brownlow Conference on Thinking and Learning in Melbourne a voice.

Upworthy.com - 1 views

  •
"Upworthy runs on a simple mantra: sharing is caring. Barely a year old, it's already a leader in a crowded community of social news sites, bringing attention to content that's inspirational (watch a news anchor fight back against a bully who called her fat) and very shareable (see a waitress get a $500 tip). Its deceptively simple design emphasizes well-written headlines, the content itself and sharing options, creating a powerful viral effect. Just try and resist its siren call."

This one is very specific to what I do as a music teacher--but I still think it's a great example of the power of the cloud for sharing ideas.

Pics Viewr A Neat idea for sharing photos.  It could be incorporated into a class lesson where students share pictures back and forth from a project.

I also think that this a great tool. I can see several applications: 1. Create a Storytelling activity based on some of the photos. 2. Choosing one of the templates to be embedded in a PPT. Almudena

Using a tool like this may bring more "life" into the online learning experience especially for those management teams separated by geographic distances. Pictures speak 1000 words!

Great to develop storytelling in the classroom and to reinforce the visual element of our slides.

The 100 Best Web 2.0 Classroom Tools Chosen By You | Edudemic - 9 views

  • PBWORKS: PBworks is my favorite Web 2.0 tool. I am a high school teacher and I create workspaces for each of the standards that I teach. I upload class notes, powerpoints, videos, and other resources to support the standards that I teach. Students can access the workspace anytime to get information that they missed or just to review the information. Best of all—it’s FREE!

I was really glad to see PBWorks listed. I had the pleasure of using this tool for a couple of courses that I was an online student in and it was an amazing collaboration tool! We actually used it to put together research for a topic. It does have it's quarks, which are pretty minimal, but I book marked it because I could definately see myself using this as a tool as an instructor.

Great list of Web 2.0 tools and links to access these resources.

embedit.in - Any file, in your website - 6 views

  •
Terrific tool for adding files to websites, or as I've just discovered D2L messages. The system first requires you to upload your file to their server. They then produce an embed code you place using html on a webpage (or message box). This will open your file in a window on the page in question. Great way to display pdf or word docs, Nerdy, but nice.
