So… I am sure I'm not the first to notice this, but I find it a little interesting that Imshael decides to spare the children of Clan Virnehn. It's very similar to the story we hear about the Slow Arrow. Like, almost identical. Fen'Harel is summoned to kill a great beast and protect the village. He does so, but only after he allows the beast to kill everyone in the village except the children, thereby fulfilling his promise. Imshael is summoned to make a keystone, which he does, but then tricks and kills the majority of the clan, except the children. In both cases, Fen'Harel and Imshael fulfill their bargain, but twist the deal.

We don't really know much about who this man was. Wynne doesn't say much about him. The only narrative we really have in the game about Wynne's pregnancy is her very brief account:

His full pen name is, actually, "Philliam, a Bard!". The exclamation point is part of the pen name, and he gets pissy if you drop it. He's like the Buzzfeed of Thedas, editing up important articles and scholarly works for mass consumption by taking out all the boring parts and leaving mostly just the sex and violence. [...]

So, actually, re: that Merrill post, there are several instances of the Taint being either removed completely or heavily mitigated, and there's a pattern to it, to say the least. (Last Flight spoilers)

I've been thinking about the social dynamic of Dalish clans and how they might be organized (in terms of assigning jobs, domestic tasks, and education). Do you have any suggestions what to look up to maybe base my HC off of that?

I doubt Solas painted those murals though. They are made with a similar style to his because that was the elven art of the time. Those who survived in the Vir Dirthara may have decided to show what he had done. Same counts for the Titan's mural (Varric even says: "If this painting is anything like Solas', then it's probably about broody shit"). The only mural we know for sure that Solas painted is his self-portrait in the Qunari's fortress.

Alright, time to continue my Descent notes from the last post. Man I kinda wish I had notes like this for more stuff. So-screens, conversations, and lore observations (and some shitty jokes probably) below the cut. So when we left off we'd just walked in and seen the "heart" of the Titan, and this conversation ensues:

and if we take into account how surprised solas is that cole could take human form so simply, it makes you think that even in his time it was rare, forced or some other medium was required for the transition. (btw sorry for spamming your inbox but thank you for indulging my theories <3)

I've been replaying da2 and there's something that Anders says at the beginning of Dissent that really stood out to me because of the amount of people who think that the Chantry explosion wasn't justified because so many people died, and that violence wasn't necessary, and that those deaths weren't necessary, etc. Dissent is during Act 2. That's three years before the Chantry explosion, and things were already beyond fucking awful.

i had a quick look with the tag search and nothing came up/i haven't seen any discussion, so: the scaled ones. i have (but haven't played all) the DLC, but being unconcerned about spoilers at this stage i was poking around and looking at theories, and i know there's not a lot of canon info, but any thoughts? if there was anywhere i thought things were going, i didn't think it was "probably evil underground lizards"?!

I was just sitting there thinking about red lyrium, and about how Bianca said that this is regular lyrium that carries the Blight. But then I remembered something from Dragon Age II that suddenly blows the top off of everything we thought we knew about the blight.

Dorian: Back home, you see dwarves everywhere… and not just from the Ambassadoria. Rather odd how, in the South, everyone thinks of dwarves as merchants. Limited view, in my opinion.
