Another valuable site. I often use this site as an introduction to an upcoming topic after a test or as review. We use ipads in my class so my kids can work independently or collaboratively to review or see an introduction of an upcoming topic. Quizlet is also another valuable tool. It is not a site but an ipad app that again allows review for assessments-independently or collaboratively

Great for some SLA topics, good for learning how some theories are applied in the real world.
  •
HBR is indeed great for a variety of topics we touch on. I am always telling students that the cool thing about psychology is real life application, and they really admire those who are successful in business. HBR helps me keep them engaged.

10 Famous Psychological Experiments That Could Never Happen Today - 3 views

  •
Nowadays, the American Psychological Association has a Code of Conduct in place when it comes to ethics in psychological experiments. Experimenters must adhere to various rules pertaining to everything from confidentiality to consent to overall beneficence. Review boards are in place to enforce these ethics.
  •
Thanks for compiling such a great resource. I just wish it had more dialog about the ethics violations.

An overview of ten psychology experiments that could not be completed today. I use this when introducing my new students to the idea of ethical considerations and why they are so important and must be considered for all psychological investigations.

    Great resource!
  •
This website gives a great overview of many of the most important fields, methods, perspectives, psychologists, and studies in Psychology. It is intended for students writing their A-level Psychology, and is thus an excellent introductory website for anyone who is new to Psychology or is refreshing his or her memory.
  •
I find Simply Psychology for many reasons, not the least of which is that it is accessible language. But it has some studies that are reported in enough detail to be replicated, a reference to the original publication, and links to terrific outside documents which are often the original publication. It takes some clicking around to find studies, but well worth it.
  •
This site offers a more scientific read. The knowledge is put forth straight forwardly and makes for interesting reading of theories, concepts and scientific inquiry put forth. I use it to encourage psychological vocabulary too.

APA announcement in 2015 about banning participation by psychologists in national security interrogations
  •
APA's Council of Representatives voted almost unanimously to prohibit psychologists from participating in national security interrogations. Its resolution states that psychologists "shall not conduct, supervise, be in the presence of, or otherwise assist any national security interrogations for any military or intelligence entities, including private contractors working on their behalf, nor advise on conditions of confinement insofar as these might facilitate such an interrogation."
