I am studying the use of narratives of contagion in the Matrix film trilogy, because I want to understand why they are used to represent opposite ideas, both positive and negative.
Why would men select against socially valued traits, such as intelligence and successfulness? Is this a question of men feeling emasculated by smarter women? Why is it a threat to their manhood for their mate to be smarter, stronger, taller, or older than them? I would frame my question in a psychological framework, to try to find why certain factors challenge the sense of manhood.
Good luck!
