Diigo « BCPS E-Learning: Web 2.0 Tools - 0 views

  • How can you use it effectively in instruction? As my intermediate students complete the research project we assign, this will be a terrific way for them to match note-taking skills with technology skills. However, it will be vital that we first discuss “copying” versus “note-taking” so that they don’t learn to rely on highlighting as their primary method of taking notes for their paper. What are other education applications for this tool? We complete a research report with note-taking project in class so that students are prepared for the research report required in their STEM (Science) Fair project. Every one of our students has to complete this assignment, so they will be able to apply the on-line note-taking skills at home.

    This is an older version of Diigo presentation. Very concise about key features of diigo. \n\n Tis is also a good version for diigo overview for beginners. We should put out a new version (screenshots) that reflects some of the latest changes.

What's needed for presentator's pack? Suggestions welcome - 78 views

presentation tips

    We understand that educators have started to share Diigo with others. Some people have suggested that we should prepare some standard "presentator's pack" to make preparing their workshop / session easier.

    Here are some initial thought of what's needed:

    ==========

    A) For presentator: some Powerpoint presentations (perhaps two versions - "Diigo Intro" vs. "Explore Diigo". "Diigo Intro" version for audience who are completely new to diigo, and "Explore Diigo" is for those who have some basic Diigo knowledge already and wish to explore a little more)

    B) For attendees: a step-by-step tutorial guide of how to get started or a simple cheatsheet (what should be included?)

    C) What also very desirable are some resources / links section - some white papers / usecases / videos to explain, suggest, showcase some examples

    ===============

    Suggestions very, very welcome. And any offer to help out with any of these materials? Of course, any assistance that we get - we will make sure that we properly acknowledge your name and credit your contribution.

    Julie,

    Great suggestion, and love to have your assistance

    I like the Q&A - it will be a very helpful cheatsheet for anyone. We should definitely get busy on those... Should we open up a wiki doc for this? (hopefully we can re-use some the help tips materials already on help.diigo.com and just summarize and re-work the format somewhat.)

    By the way, Emily's video is very helpful for some of the Q&A, how-to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcecBgRd3ig&watch_response

    ====

    PPT - should it be in the Q&A format, or something like

    http://www.slideshare.net/msovoice/diigo-presentation (older version screenshots- need some update)

    Everyone's feedback welcome
