In order not to end up with bookmarks of dead pages, one could snap everything, but that is inefficient in time and storage, instead diigo could snap all urls in its library daily, and check for link rot the next day, keep dead urls snaps for those who have bookmarked that url, and throw away all other snaps - technically challenging where pages have changed but not died - may need multiple 'versions' of page, could use wayback machine to recover pages potentially
