This article is old (1971) but from a foundational theorist in PBL. He discusses using projects to teach students to be mathematicians rather than just teaching or failing to teach them math. Link on Boise site: http://www.tandfonline.com.libproxy.boisestate.edu/doi/pdf/10.1080/0020739700030306

PBL in the English Classroom - 1 views

  •
I appreciate the time Hewes takes here to review the literature relating not just to PBL but also the English classroom. Though it's in Australia, I think it's more than applicable to American classrooms and look forward to the results of the study. The primary focus appears to be the use of technology for PBL in the English classroom, since English teachers are now becoming teachers of multiple literacies.

This site is especially helpful for school districts looking for guidance in establishing 21st century curriculum. Besides resources for teachers, it has guidelines and resources for district administrators. This site gives teachers the support that they may need if they are trying to incorporate PBL and are meeting some resistance.
