Title Immigrants: On the Move with the American Slide Project Idea: The challenge to students is that they must evaluate how immigrants have been influenced by the American culture and how the American culture has been shaped by immigrants.

This project looks like a great way to teach perimeter and area in a relevant and realistic situation. Students will create a subdivision keeping in mind the costs, designs, math, and planning that is a part of the process. They will work with scale drawings of houses, cost breakdown, and subdivision design. This project implements math skills, advertising skills, and writing skills into a interesting and active project.

This was a great doctoral thesis featuring a high school involving PBL and its correlation with the Science, Technology, and Math concentrations. It was well written with a great literature review, descriptive definitions and pictures/graphics throughout. This thesis is a great resource for statistics and research regarding PBL.
