One of the important parts of PBL is technology but we have to remember to teach our students to use it effectively. Common Sense Media provides some great free resources to help with digital literacy and citizenship instruction.

Florida Virtual Schools (FLVS) has recognized the effectiveness of Project-Based Learning (PBL), and has been working to incorporate this transformative teaching strategy in its online courses. PBL has become increasingly popular in education as more classrooms K-12 incorporate it with their course material, similarly online learning as also assumed an increasing role in K-12 content delivery.

There is no doubt that the needs and requirements of our workforce are constantly changing. It is estimated that 80% of the jobs that will be part of the labor market in 2010 do not yet exist. This looks to be a good resource for K-12 inquiry-based projects that focus primarily on math and science (though there are connections to social studies and language arts). It is searchable by grade and subject.
