Specific program links to collaborative documents given in this page. Check out the main domain (classroom20wiki.com) for a great site on other topics, as well.

Moodle - Classroom Management Software - 0 views

Very much like Blackboard only free. It's easy to set up and has too many tools to list here. Just about anything you can think of using for classroom management is here. Great tool and easy to set up.

This product is Ok. It seems like a fun play toy without a real use in the classroom. This could be a part in participation if they make a class bulletin board, but like I said I really do not think it would be of real use in the classroom.

I would use Tumblr in my classroom as a platform where my posts would be the primary source and students would be requested to add a post to my initial post after every class with any questions, comments or concerns they had about the lesson. This would be an integral part of the classroom which would be introduced on the first day of class and would be followed throughout the duration of the classroom. Responses to the posts would be factored in to the student's final grade.

The format is just like Facebook, but it offers blogs, adding courses you teach, grades, allows comments on each students, tracks attendance, etc. Great tool to use as a teacher or school administrator.

Mainly for businesses, but schools can create virtual classrooms, maintain calendars, assignment deadlines, host picture shows, video events and encourage parents participation, etc.

This website appears to be a user friendly tool that would enable teachers (or anyone) to professionally produce diagrams, charts, graphs, and pictures. In my career, this would be a helpful tool for use in the classroom for both student interaction and setting up classroom rules and objectives.

Mindomo - 0 views

  •
Mindomo is a versatile Web-based mind mapping tool, delivering the capabilities of desktop mind mapping software in a Web browser - with no complex software to install or maintain. Create, edit mind maps, and share them with your colleagues or your friends.
  •
I would use this tool, MindOMO, in my Spanish classroom because I would use it to have student link key grammar concepts or vocabulary words together. This would help them see how grammar concepts in Spanish are intermingled and therefore it would help them get a better grasp on the language.

TeacherTube - 0 views

Similar to YouTube but education oriented. I found some interesting videos on here but I have found the equivalent YouTube videos to have better production values.

It's YoutTube for Teachers!!! TeacherTube is a service that allows users, mostly educators to share educational resources (documents, images, audio & video files) for free. The sites has resources for classroom use, professional development, and even have some posted by students.

I love this site!!!! I think it would make my life a lot simpler and put responsibility on the parent and students to keep up with their grades and attendance. I am hoping I can get my school interested in this site.

I wouldn't use it for the classroom but it is an Interesting site and very useful, a place for me to store sites that I would later add to my blog for students to view.

This is actually a radio type program that you get 30 minutes per day on the free site. Very easy and great to use for collaboration in the classroom.

This is a great site to create word clouds. The only thing I did not like is it does not let you select the shapes.

Rocket Math - 0 views

  •
Somehow we have managed to successfully program our students/children to think that Math and fun don't mix. This app combines fun with space rockets and quick-thinking math skills. The better your student/child does on the challenges, the more "money" he/she earns to upgrade their rockets. This would be a great app to use in the classroom to help review math operations, and still motivate the students to accomplish something and they can see their progress through how much money they have earned or by how fancy their rocket is.

Mixbook - 0 views

Mixbook is a free service that allows users to create online photo books, cards and calendars. It comes with a set of design templates, but the user can create their own using the available design tools. Users can invite others to collaborate on the production of these online projects. Mixbook is mashed-up with sites like Facebook, Flickr and Picasa, so users can easily user their photos from these sites too. There's also a Mixbook Education program where students and teachers have free access to collaborative classroom tools, in a secure online environment and receive discounts on printed products.

Office Live - 0 views

  •
I would use Office Live in my classroom by giving it to students as an option for completing their work collaboratively with other students from the comfort of their own home. I think that group work is key to helping students really grasp concepts and taking responsibility for portions of assignments so, while I would not use this as a platform for teaching or providing feedback, I would present this to my students who need a way to work together outside of school.
