Welcome to MediaCommons Press, an in-development feature of MediaCommons, promoting the digital publication of texts ranging from article- to monograph-length.
Our most recent project is an open review of the essays proposed for the collection Learning Through Digital Media. We are also currently hosting a discussion of chapter 6 from Thomas Streeter's book, The Net Effect: Romanticism, Capitalism, and the Internet.
QR codes let you encode any type of text into an image, which can then be read by a smartphone camera. Now you can share the URL of any webpage through a QR code automatically using an online service called Lil'qr. You simply paste a code into the source code of your webpage(s) and when opened in the browser, a QR code is automatically generated.
You have to play with this to see how cool it is. I Like the colors and the player for revisions. Plays like a movie. Also no sign up and chat built in. Sweet! Export in all formats. No publish though, but can share url.
Basically, Cinch lives up to its name by making podcasting a cinch. Users can upload audio from a smartphone application, by dialling a number from their mobile phone or by uploading via the website using their computer. It just makes podcasting so easy!
