This site is a new multimedia project featuring free interactive adventure games set throughout U.S. history. The first game, Mission 1: For Crown or Coloni? puts players in the shoes of Nat Wheeler, a 14 year old printer's apprentice in 1770 Boston. As players complete tasks throughout the city, they meet everyone from merchants to soldiers, sailors to poets, Patriots to Loyalists. The game reveals rising tensions threatening to come to a head, and, ultimately, players must choose where their loyalties lie. Teachers can use the website to manage classes and track student progress.

Looks interesting. It may align more with the elementary SS content.

Maps 101 appears to not be free but has a trial version. ti appears to be K-12. It includes materials for Spanish language educators and those teaching students with limited English. I couldn't find information on the purchase but I did see that you can request an extension on the trial version.

scribblemaps lets users create custome maps and share them. Users don't need a login to create a map. Students can add text and pictures to the information boxes, and they can see their project in map view, satellite view, hybrid view, and night sky. They can zoom in and out and find a particular area using the search box.

Icyte is a research bookmarking tool. Icyte assums that teams of students already have a common research task and quickly facilitates sharing and collaboration.

Terminix has launched an educational website with insect lessons. The website is built around the character Harry, a praying mantis who guides visitors through resources for teachers and students. The educator center provides teachers with curriculum guides and lesson plans, created by entomologists at Audubon Insectarium and Terminix, that correlate with National Science Teacher Association standards.

Shmoop, a publisher of digital educational resources, has added pre-algebra to its list of free learning guides. The online Pre-Algebra Learning guides contain hundreds of topics with succinct explanations, diagrams, interactive examples, practice problems, and real-world applications. Collection of resources for teachers and especially students. Great number of study tools and skill builders. Especially great because it has resources on "The Outsiders" and "The Pigman" for 7th Grade Resources.

Encyclopedia of the Earth an electronic reference about the Earth, its natural environmetns, and their interaction with society. It is a free, fully searchable collection of articles written by scholars, professionals, educators, and experts who collaborate and review each other's work. The articles are written in non-technical language and are useful to students, educators, scholars, and professionals, as well as to the general public.

At a quick glance it looks like this site has lots of information about a variety of science related topics.

Bill of Rights Institute Resources and lessons.

The Bill of Rights Institute has released a new game, Life Without the Bill of Rights? This free click-and explor activity asks students to consider how life would change without some of our most cherished freedoms. Life Without the Bill of Rights? invites studetns to understand the significance of their constitutionally protected rihts, including freedom of religion, speech, and press; freedom from unreasonable search and seizure; and the rights of private property. Other free resources include an interactive module that allows studetns to "travel through time" to converse with the Founding Fathers and report on the Constitutional Convention.

Thhis site provides you with information to get started on scratch a free program that will allow you to create interactive games and activities for students. It is also great for kids who like to create with technology.

If you have used scratch you will like this site. Lots of help and examples of how to use scratch. If you haven't used scratch this will be a very helpful site to get you started.

Teacher's first look like an interesting place for teachers to locate a variety of resources for teaching. As you will see by the home page a corporate partner with this site is ISTE which is the International Society for Technology in Education.

I have used this site to upload videos created by teachers and students. I haven't seen anything inappropriate on it. I know it is monitored because I believe the video had to be previewed before it was released onto the site.

Schoo Tube is a great way for teachers and studetns to watch videos, upload videos, create a Free channel, enter contests, and receive the video of the day.
