Without a stable or recognized government in Libya, it can be difficult to figure out who's actually in charge. According to the Egyptians, they believe the world should recognize General Khalifa Haftar who controls militia forces in the Northeastern portions of Libya and has been fighting ISIS as well. Not only is he seeming to lead the fight against ISIS but is also making the rounds in Washington to discuss the ongoing situation in Libya and has taken an active stance on some regional issues as well.

Five years after the start of the uprising against Muammar Gaddafi, Libya is fast becoming the new frontier of the western war against Islamic State. The US and its allies have grown increasingly worried about the expansion of Isis in Libya, where the insurgency has an estimated force of 6,500 fighters. With this threat in place America is set to have a new bombing campaign in Libya in order to cease the threat of the Islamic state in Libya.

On October 25th, 33 security personnel were killed in Sinai by Islamist militants. According to this article, President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi was responsible for the security failures that resulted in the deaths. Sisi was quick to blame the Muslim Brotherhood for the attack, despite the Brotherhoods insistent denial.

The recent US air strike on a building in the western Libyan city of Sabrata, which killed more than 40 suspected Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) fighters, highlights the growing expansion and danger of the group in Libya. Both ISIL and Gaddafi loyalists share the belief that the new political leaders in Libya are "agents of the West" brought to power by NATO. Sirte has become the first stronghold that ISIL totally controls outside of Iraq and Syria, and it is reportedly home to the group's strongest presence within Libya. For the Western powers to combat this, means many military airstrikes as well as working with Libyan forces to provide intelligence of the whereabouts of the ISIL powers

In Saudi Arabia if workers file a complaint against their employers about abuse they are usually returned to their employers or pressured to drop the charges. Typically, the employers will file a false counter-argument against the workers for theft, witchcraft, and adultery in retaliation. This country is also accused of failing to take action to reduce the demand of prostitution or child sex tourism. 

Protests affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood took place in late January calling for a "revolutionary wave". Security forces were deployed throughout Egypt in anticipation for several anti-government riots. After time the police managed to disperse the riots.

Egyptian police forces, as ordered by president Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, have heavy numbers in Egypt leading up to and on the day of the anniversary of the outsing of Hosni Mubarak, January 25th. This attempt to silence protestors is further evidence of the problems the nation still faces.

Millions of Yemenis are in need of aid. Civilians are being targeted by both the Houthi rebels and Saudi forces.

This article highlights the struggle for governmental unity that is occurring in Libya. The government, as the article says, "has been split into 2 rival governments since 2014." With militia forces and the increasing threat of ISIS, a stable government must be formed to secure a prosperous future for Libya.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his visit to Moscow on Monday was aimed at preventing clashes between Russian and Israeli military forces in the Middle East. Putin, meeting with Netanyahu, said Russia's actions in the Middle East would be always "responsible."

This article highlights some of the challenges with improving girls education. Yemen has very little resources so taking resources from one place and giving to another-is basically like taking from students sitting on the dirt and giving to students sitting on rocks. There is also high security concerns. Many religious sects don't believe women should receive education.  So girls and schools are being terrorized on the way to school. Some families don't believe the cash transfer is worth loosing children. 

Jordan officials killed 7 suspected jihadist militants whom were supposedly planning to blow up civilian and military targets in the country. Jordan, backed by the U.S., has been amping up the crackdown on ISIL influence flooding from Syria.
