Gulfs states have been investing in missile defences to line the border with Iran. Saudia Arabian spent $2 billion last year on missile defence which has remained a large portion of the Gulf's total miliatry budget of $113 billion.

Tunisian military appeals court jailed blogger Yassine Ayari for 6 months for defaming the army. He was prosecuted over blogs he had written alleging financial abuses by army officers and defence ministry officials in a case. Ayari has alleged that he is being punished for blogs he wrote while out of the country. His family and supporters charge that his prosecution is a violation of newfound freedom of expression, which was one of the main gains of the revolution.

Britain has launched its first drone strike against Islamic State (Isis) fighters in Iraq. An RAF Reaper drone fired a Hellfire missile at Isis forces laying improvised explosive devices near Bayji, the site of Iraq's biggest oil refinery, north of Baghdad, over the weekend, the Ministry of Defence said on Monday.

The Israeli regime has been known to have killed 19 Palestinians in the past six months, according to a report released by the PLO-affiliated Abdullah Al Hourani Centre for Studies and Documentation. The centre says that Israeli soldiers justified these murders under the pretext of self-defence.
