Gender Difference of Confidence in Using Technology for Learning - 0 views

  •
This article talks about the differences between males and females regarding this question: "Do male students have more confidence in using technology for learning than female students?" The study talked about was done in Hong Kong, this specific study found that both men and women like to learn using technology unlike in other studies done on this topic it was found that women are relatively new to the school setting and still have some of the old mindset, that women should only learn certain things and technology is more for males. Many students in Hong Kong and all over the world use technology every day, and gender doesn't matter.

I would agree that gender should not matter.

Gender Issues in Physical Education - 0 views

  •
This article is about the gender inequality in those high school students who chose not to pursue PE classes once they are no longer compulsory. It states that a very high number of girls chose to not continue with physical education classes. This leads to less physical activity as they get older and an increased likelihood of obesity as an adult.

10 Major Technology Trends in Education -- THE Journal - 1 views

  •
This article is about the ten major trends in education--and a lot of them deal with technology. They are talking about the implementation of connected mobile devices, videos, the discussion of the digital footprint, and the closing of the gender gap with the rise of gaming. This is a good article to consult for multiple reasons. It not only addresses technology but the new trends that are becoming apparent as a result of it. Multiple questions arise as a result of reading this article. 1) Is the use of technology making the educational poverty gap even greater? 2) How can we adjust to technology and implementing it into a classroom in a district where the availability of tech is limited? 3) How can we encourage young students to be more aware of their digital footprint both in and outside of class? •
This article is about how more males are typically enrolling to be in technology courses in middle and high schools in the US then are females. It mentions how keeping and bringing in female students to take educational technology courses will require major changes in instructional practice and course content. A study in this article also brought about how males and females have different interests when it comes to the use of technology.

Although the article is somewhat dated. I do believe some of the research is still true.
