Here is a very interesting article discusing the future of technology and it's impact on jobs. Some of the opinions need to be taken with a grain of salt.
Please take the time to review this and part two of this video (URL listed below and in previous post). While Matt Bai is addressing politics specifically, his commentary is more of a statement on the overall impact of the Internet on society. Well worth the time.

As we move into discussions of social networks, I wanted to share with the group the Socialnomics link, by Eric Qualman. He has come out with a couple of brilliant videos which profess the impact of social networks in our world. Be sure to check out the Socialnomics 2010 video!
This article, which is authored by a member of the Asia Future Internet Forum, looks at some of the current mobile internet trends, and also addresses some of the potential problems. It gives the author's proposal for an alternative mobile network design. While I don't expect anyone to read all the fine print in this (some of it is IT oriented and somewhat confusing), the big picture is what I find interesting-- people have so much faith and support for mobile internet that they want to develop some sort of international standards for it. People taking initiative such as this will really have a big impact on how the mobile network is shaped in the future!
