PiNet, A system for setting up and managing a classroom set of Raspberry Pis. - 12 views

  •
PiNet allows you to cluster Raspberry Pi computers in your classroom, monitor each of them, and allows students to share their work on a PiNet connected display. Given the low price of Raspberry Pi and the fact that this tool is free it seems illogical for a classroom not to have this setup.

Cloud Hosting - Bitnami - 6 views

  •
Bitnami offers a lot of useful applications that can be run from the cloud (with a subscription) or on a VirtualBox on your computer for free. I especially like this site because it has virtualized version of Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Moodle and Canvas, and Content Management Systems (CMS) like Drupal and Joomla that you can set up to play with before deciding on which to use.

Technology in Education - | Schoology - 34 views

  •
I created this group to give teachers some space to share and discuss the use of technology in the classroom. Feel free to post freely here. Those who know and love technology should spill their knowledge onto the pages and those who don't should absorb it like a sponge. You must be a member of Schoology to access this forum (go ahead, it's free). Once you have joined Schoology, access your home page, click on Groups, Click on Join and use access code X82RG-3T25Q to request access to the group.

"Google offers a ton of solutions for students, teachers, and classrooms. Some products are intentionally designed for classrooms, others just happen to work well for that setting as well as many others. The handy infographic below takes a look at some usage statistics on Google tools in the classroom along with a few tidbits about Apps for Education if you're not familiar with them.
