Making You Understand Modern Concept Of Management - 0 views

  •
Homework help service is the hand students need in order to find a direction in which the homework must go. Often it is seen that students are a bit reluctant when it comes to approaching their school teachers for help because they are ashamed of the fact that they did not hear the things said aloud in the classroom.

Assistive Technology: IdeaPaint- Turning Any Surface into a Dry Erase Whiteboard - 0 views

  •
Giving students and teachers the opportunity to visualize ideas and concepts is one proven way to improve achievement in the classroom. While many classrooms now have whiteboards as well as interactive whiteboards there are still a large number of schools that still have traditional blackboards that long for the opportunity to have a whiteboard that they can put colored markers to. Replacing blackboards with whiteboards can be extremely expensive for schools when you take into account the labor and the price of good quality whiteboards. But what if there was a cost effective way for classrooms to transform their blackboards into whiteboards? In fact, there is a cost effective way to accomplish this using IdeaPaint- an easy to use dry erase paint that can be applied to almost any surface. In fact some teachers have used IdeaPaint to paint the walls as well as the top of student's desks. I had learned about IdeaPaint several years ago but was excited to see how educators in New Jersey were using this product in the classroom. IdeaPaint has a number of great videos on their website demonstrating how teachers across the US are using IdeaPaint in the classroom to make learning more interactive and more visually appealing.

I wonder can this be incorporated into a middle school class room lesson plan. We use books for so many years, until computers were introduced. Is it fair for students to be able to go online and use this Visuwords. I think this is awesome and feel it would be of some help.

Virtually Transforming Classrooms | EDC Blog - 0 views

  • Enter the world of the post-secondary Learning Management System. Sure, it’s multi-faceted and has a wide range of tools, but in the whole it remains difficult for students to openly collaborate in person, be creative from a distance and proactively learn class material, and all within the same environment, all at the same time.
  • Virtual worlds like Second Life and Lively beta by Google, on the other hand, are three-dimensional (3D) environments accessible over the internet through a high-speed connection. At first, they feel like games, but after some time exploring you begin to realize that it’s not all stimulation: It’s intuitive, interactive, collaborative, and social. These virtual worlds have not only begun to attract attention from companies seeking better conferencing tools, considerable attention has been delivered by educators who believe that virtual worlds have a place in the educational discourse through ‘immersive learning’ - worlds that can offer course content in a virtual setting in different ways that students can immerse themselves in, rather than requiring the student to be adaptive to the material.
  • According to Calongne, “Virtual world classrooms use a mix of media-rich course materials”, and “since a student’s understanding of complex content may be hazy, offering information in a variety of ways allows students to use the information and virtual environment around them to solve problems and create solutions for their projects.” Suddenly, students are a part of the learning and not just mindlessly assimilating concepts before storing this information in the back of their minds for the long term. Now, they can experience it.

35 ways to use Twiducate for deeper learning. « taitcoles - 0 views

  • 18. Wordle Twiducate. The ‘print’ option enables you to upload all posts written in the class (also available for the ‘chat’ option), simply cut and paste this into Wordle and you will have a keyword cloud. This could be used for presentations, display, plenaries or starters. Put the word cloud up at the start of a lesson and ask the class “what do you think these students were writing about?”
  • 19. Student Twiducate Questions. Encourage your students to ask YOU questions. Perhaps you could set this up as a piece of homework, ask them to comment on a part of the lesson they perhaps they didn’t fully understand, or ask them to decide what they want to learn next lesson. By viewing posts before lessons you can plan directly for the specific needs of your class.
  • 26. Parent Page. This neat idea could be another way to communicate to parents about the fantastic and engaging learning that their children are doing in your lessons. You could write a brief synopsis of what students are learning in lessons, or to deepen learning ask each student in turn to add to the page; “Sarah, would you like to write three sentences to everyone’s parents about what we’ve learnt today?”
  • ...4 more annotations...
  • 29. Bookmark your presentations. Bookmark the PowerPoint, Prezi presentations that you have used in class. As well as the students having the opportunity to re read it etc, you could also ask them to produce a slide for the presentation as homework etc.
  • 34. Planning for teacher. Use the print option to view what you students have been chatting about, it may be very surprising. If they were all chatting about a certain concept, perhaps you will need to cover it again in another lesson in another way.
  • 35. Wordle it! Again using the print option in Twiducate, cut and paste the chat into Wordle and create a word cloud. This could be used for presentations, display, plenaries or starters. Put the word cloud up at the start of a lesson and ask the class “can you remeber what we were chatting about last lesson?”
  • For the more reluctant students, this allows students to discuss ideas BEFORE they post. Like any class dynamics some students will not be as comfortable as others in saying “but Sir! I don’t get it!”. Allow them to use this tool to ask other students about their learning.

6 Ways to Honor the Learning Process in Your Classroom | Edutopia - 0 views

  • Roughly put, learning is really just a growth in awareness.
  • While morsels of information -- math theorems, for example -- may not change, the context in which students use them do change. Which in turn changes how we consider and use that morsel.
  • Even what we call facts -- significant historical dates, labels for ethnic groups, causes and effects of cultural movements -- all change endlessly, if not in form (how they're discussed), then in meaning and connotation (what we think of them).
  • ...10 more annotations...
  • And thus changing how students use this skill or understanding. And thus changing how we, as teachers, "teach it."
  • This could be thought of as depth of understanding, a term that produced a depth of knowledge (DOK) framework for measuring understanding which is still used in many districts. Bloom's Taxonomy (1) or even the TeachThought Learning Taxonomy (2) are all tools to help evaluate understanding -- how well a student "gets it."
  • 1. Use Learning Taxonomies
  • 2. Use Concept Maps
  • Have students map, chart, diagram or otherwise visually represent their own learning pathways and changes in their own understanding.
  • 3. Use a Variety of Assessment Forms
  • 4. Build Metacognition into Units
  • Prime the pump by assigning students quick writing prompts about their own thinking.
  • 6. Connect Students to Networks
  • As students connect to networks, the learning process will plug them in, not just to one teacher, or 25 classmates, or eight texts, but to something much larger -- and more able to interact with students organically.
