This blog entry has less content but poses an interesting question about Social network systems (SNS) as Convivial Technology --  posted in 2011, the question seems out of date and obvious, but the highlighted segment, "For SNS to be used in convivial ways, I contend we need to exert healthy and frequent doses of "digital discipline," suggests that non-convivial tech can be transformed into convivial tech with intentionality and discipline, and vice versa.

The primary argument presented here is that if we conceptualize play as a mood, and if this mood can increase social learning and cultural adaptation, we must question why this mood is often repressed in adulthood. This is an organization in Baltimore that sends play and game coaches to urban schools to facilitate non competitive recess play. The main/original intention was to minimize poor behavior and frequent student discipline, and now seeks to address further community building skills. They teach to teachers and school staff, but not so much to neighborhoods -unless specifically hired. I have participated in some games with other adults and found it completely appropriate.
