    I find the idea that should a physical threat be made against Iran that other Muslim occupied countries would unite to be quite accurate and terrifying. As alluded to in the Clash of Civilizations, I believe there to be a great possibility of an impending war based on religious beliefs. The Islamic community was already infuriated, especially with the U.S., by the Mohammed film. Any further attack (whether theoretical or physical) by the United States or by its allies could result in a quite dangerous situation.

    In order to resolve the unrest and poverty in the southern island of Mindanao, the Philippine government signed a 13 page agreement with the country's largest Muslim rebel group. Although this agreement does not provide a lot of the details that the both sides need to address and work on, it is a positive step into outlining a more peaceful and accepting society, which is why I think this is an important article.

    Once again, partitioning land between Hindus and Muslims does not go well for all. An Indian court decided that a 2.7-acre piece of land in the town of Adhoya would be shared between Hindus and Muslims (the Hindus were given a larger part). The debate over this piece of land had triggered "the worst sectarian violence in India since the subcontinent was partitioned in 1947". Another reminder of religious tensions in the Indo-Pakistani area.
