Occupy protests spread across the world, but unlike the United States there is more violence in places such as Rome. People complain the government is not listening to them and they want to communicate; however, many are violent which doesn't necessarily show willingness for dialogue. There seems to be a divide between the peaceful protesters and violent ones.

Most of the violence seems to stem from frustration. In protest to the oppressive capitalist system they so hate, protestors are becoming willing to do more extreme acts as a call for attention. However, this violence ultimately proves counter productive because it makes it easier for the mainstream media to write off the protestors as "violent extremists" rather than actually listening to their message.
