Are such notions reflected in Canadian media? What are the current trends in reporting mental illness in Canada? Are we doing well, or can things be improved? On November 28th, 2011, a group of researchers, advocates, and other interested people gathered in Montreal to discuss the media's representation of mental illness. The event was hosted by CIHR Cafe Scientifique. In part 1, Dr. Rob Whitley talks about the findings of his latest study on how mental illness is portrayed in the media.
