Another interesting use of the ipod would be to use it to help teach English to language learners. This site talks a bit about how it can be helpful for pronunciation, listening and speaking. Students can hear a native speaker and work on their own pronunciation, repeating what they hear on the ipod. They can also, pause, rewind, etc. which is more difficult to do and tiring for an actual physical person to do (repeating phrases over and over). This way kids don't have to feel guilty if they don't get something right away, and they don't have to feel like they are bothering their tutor by asking them to repeat.

Instead of Running Records, students were able to have fun recording themselves and learning from their mistakes by listening to themselves. If you have the tools before you get funding to show results, the results can speak for themselves when you go to ask for funding from the board or school district.
