Pexeer - A Complete Peer to Peer Cryptocurrency Exchange Platform by itechtheme - 2 views

  •
Pexeer Peer-to-peer crypto scripts typically use digital signatures and cryptographic techniques to secure transactions and prevent fraud. In a P2P network, each user has a unique digital signature that is used to verify the authenticity of transactions. The network also uses consensus algorithms to ensure that all transactions are valid and recorded on the blockchain. P2P crypto scripts can be used for a variety of purposes, including online payments, remittances, and micropayments. They can also be used to create decentralized platforms and applications, such as decentralized exchanges, prediction markets, and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). One of the key benefits of P2P crypto scripts is their ability to bypass traditional financial intermediaries, such as banks and payment processors. This can greatly reduce costs and increase the speed and efficiency of transactions. P2P crypto scripts can also provide greater financial inclusion, particularly in areas where access to traditional financial services is limited.

CSS & JS Auto-Refreshing with Live.js - 0 views

  •
I want to share a fantastic little tool that I've only recently come across; Live.js, written by Martin Kool. This JavaScript file automatically checks for changes to your CSS and JavaScript files, and refreshes them. That means you can have your text editor in one half of the screen, and a web browser in the other. When you save changes in the editor, the updates are reflected immediately in your browser. It really helps to speed up your development time. A lot of text editors offer HTML previews and such, but they only work for plain .html pages. The great thing about Live.js is that it works on any webpage, including a working WordPress theme...............(.read more.)

All You Need To Know About CSS3 Selectors, #1: Structural Pseudo-Classes - 0 views

  •
Today's front-end developers don't just need to understand how to write CSS, we need to know how to write it efficiently. And what "efficiently" means can depend on your project and environment. Perhaps you have a team with several members working in the CSS and you need an efficient way to work together. Or maybe you have a huge enterprise site and you need your CSS optimized for speed. You could even be working with a legacy system that restricts access to HTML, which means you need efficient selectors to effectively style elements without ids or classes. You might even face all these situations and more.

Issue 9007 - chromium - Crash on illegal instruction (temporary dependence on SSE2) - G... - 0 views

  • Comment 36 by agl@chromium.org, Apr 06 (45 hours ago) You can remove the SSE2 specific flags from the build and you'll still end up with a working browser. However, you can't run pixel-tests with such a browser because your outputs will be different. For everything else, it should be fine. Comment 37 by evan@chromium.org, Apr 06 (45 hours ago) There is no reason we really need SSE2; it's just a temporary workaround for bug 8475.

Will have to tweak the build by hand. This will no doubt be fixed before Chromium Linux goes to beta, but right now it is a disappointment, as the reported added speed of Chromium may be more valuable on older machines.
  •
For now, Linux builds of the chromium open source browser won't work on Intel and AMD processors from the early/mid 2000s (including my desktop PC :( )

Programming as if Performance Mattered, by James Hague [2004-04-04] - 3 views

  • I frequently see bare queries from programmers in discussion forums, especially from new programmers, who are worried about performance. These worries often stem from popular notions about what operations are "slow." Division. Square roots. Mispredicted branches. Cache unfriendly data structures.
  • Inevitably someone chimes in that making out-of-context assumptions, especially without profiling, is a bad idea. And they're right.
  • The golden rule of programming has always been that clarity and correctness matter much more than the utmost speed. Very few people will argue with that. And yet do we really believe it? If we did, then 99% of all programs would be written in something like Python. Or Erlang.
  • ...5 more annotations...
  • At the same time, such concerns and advice seem to remain constant despite rapid advances in hardware.
  • That tempting, enticing, puzzle-solving activity called "optimization," it hasn't gone away either.
  • Only now the process is on a different level. It isn't machine level twiddling and cycle counting, but it isn't simply mathematical analysis of algorithms either.
  • The big difference is that the code changes I made are substantially safer than running a program and having it silently hang the system. All array accesses are bounds-checked. There's no way to accidentally overwrite a data structure. There's no way to create a memory leak.
  • Really, this is what those cycle-counting programmers from 1985 dreamed of.
