SAMF is an initiative of AMESA (the Association for Mathematics Education of South Africa) and SAMS the South African Mathematical Society) and its activities include teacher and learner programmes, publication of teacher and learner support materials, popularisation of mathematics and promoting public interest in mathematics research in South Africa. The SAMF ensures that the combined skills, know-how and professional capabilities of the members of these two societies are utilised in a professional manner. In this way the SAMF is a central office for Mathematics in the country and represents the entire mathematics community in South Africa.

The main objective of the Intergeo Project is to make digital content for mathematics teaching in Europe more accessible, usable and exploitable.
Intergeo will...
* offer content in a searchable and metadata-tagged portal.
* enable users to use their software of choice by specifying a common file format based on open standards.
* test available material in the classroom. All stakeholders, software teams, resource authors, teachers and learners will be involved, in order to promote quality enhancement cycles.
The maths behind Google highlights the relevance of maths in our daily lives and shows the vital role it has to play in industries, especially the information sector. But it must also be the most lucrative piece of maths in history, as this mathematical advance is directly responsible for much of Google's success and so the company's $4 billion dollar profit in 2007.
Within this site you will find lesson ideas, examples, and downloads for mathematics that embrace active learning, constructivism, and project-based learning while remaining true to the standards. The initial focus will be for grades 5 and up, but teachers of younger students may be able to find some uses or inspiration from the site. Higher level thinking skills, such as analysis, synthesis, and creativity are encouraged as well as technology skills and social learning. The scope of this site is mathematics, but many lessons lend themselves to interdisciplinary activities also.
AAA Math features a comprehensive set of interactive arithmetic lessons. Unlimited practice is available on each topic which allows thorough mastery of the concepts. A wide range of lessons (Kindergarten through Eighth grade level) enables learning or review to occur at each individual's current level.
The aim of Active Maths is to provide interactive resources that will enhance and enrich the teaching and learning of maths. The activities can be used either by individual pupils, small groups or with the whole class using a projector or an interactive whiteboard.
