The coalition Organizing Against Substances in Stoughton (O.A.S.I.S.) was founded in 2004 to address substance abuse in the town of Stoughton. It is a federally funded program that has developed relationships with various public systems such as the police department, public schools, and the justice system. O.A.S.I.S. and the Stoughton Police Department have collectively begun an overdose awareness project. The groups offer informative sessions on drug abuse and overdose prevention. The overdose prevention awareness project began this summer after an increasingly high number of overdoses were reported. The goal is for a drug-free community through education and awareness.
