Isaiah 53 was written centuries before the time of Jesus, around 712 BC. Several verses speak of the significance of Jesus' death for us personally: our gifts, our sorrows, our crimes, our sins, our well-being, our healing.

Jesus came to try to make Salvation as EASY as He possibly could!-And that's why the Religionists crucified Him, that's why they killed Him, because the Church System of the day as good as said it couldn't be done without THEM, without following all of their complicated laws, traditions & religious rigmarole! But Jesus came and showed them that they didn't have to go to church on Sunday-or Saturday or Friday or any other day of the week! They didn't have to follow the Church laws and rules and regulations and the Ten Commandments and all the rest. All they had to do was simply confess that they were sinners and needed Salvation and ask Jesus to give it to them!

One of the Devil's favourite "devices", or tools that he uses with Christians, is DISCOURAGEMENT! If he can't keep you from getting SAVED and giving your life to Jesus, then he will do his best to try to DISCOURAGE you so you give up and QUIT serving the Lord or telling others about Him!-And his favourite way of trying to discourage most of us is by getting us to look at our own mistakes, sins, weakness and failures, looking at OURSELVES instead of the LORD!

When Charles Darwin and his adherents popularized the theory of evolution in the late 1800s, rationalist and humanist scientists and philosophers proclaimed that the death knell had sounded for religion, and for the God of Creation in particular. Now, over 100 years later, both God and faith in the biblical account of Creation are alive and well. In fact, although the theory of evolution has long been taught as fact in most schools and universities with the Bible's account and other opposing views being given little or no voice, a growing number of respected scientists are joining the "creationist" camp.

One of the most encouraging and comforting things that a Christian needs to realise and constantly remember-particularly when he's going through times of trouble, trials and tribulations-is that our Heavenly Father LOVES us, and is in absolute and total control of our lives!-And that NOTHING can happen to us without HIS will or HIS permission! So even if WE don't always understand exactly why we're going through such trials, GOD knows what He's doing! He knows all the purposes and reasons behind every test, trial, affliction etc.
