Only as transformation (i.e., sanctification) takes place can we start to prove (know with certainty) the will of God. Without transformation/sanctification we cannot know God's will. And so we stumble, taking uncertain steps in life: never quite sure what we are about, or what to do or where to go and how to get there. We have the Light but not the Sight.

If we indeed intend to heed God's call to service, let us then commit ourselves to sanctification: to being washed by His Word. Let us determine to study God's Word that He might set us apart unto Himself, for His use ONLY.

A Believer becomes new creation at the point of salvation, but that new man does not automatically have control over the old, but still present, sin-nature. Sanctification is the process of putting to death that old sin nature so that Christ can reign in us… a Believer with God's Word incorporated his/her heart is Word-driven and Spiritually centered, free from the power of sin.

COMMENTARY

Give me a pure heart, that I may see Thee…

Search me, know me;stay away.I want love and salvation,but I want it my way.

When God reaches out to us we have a finite "window of opportunity" to respond to His call. 

Despite the damage sin does to us spiritually and physically, the Blood of Jesus Christ washes us clean and makes us new. From human eyes, it might not look like much, but we have everything we need to build up our spiritual wall of salvation. And that wall is indestructible, because God is its architect. Therefore, if/when we fall into sin let us not doubt our spiritual growth (if indeed we have been growing!). Rather, we should keep an eye on the gates watching and praying so that the enemy does not infiltrate our spiritual wall and lead us into temptation (Mark 14:38).

As we seek to make daily life decisions the key question is NOT, "Is this solution good for me?" The key question is, "Is Jesus in it?" In other words, instead of seeking "a solution", we seek Jesus for He alone has the RIGHT solution.

There are many, many things that we are taught from the time we are born; but to truly grasp the love that Christ has for us is by far the very most important.

…the Believer who is completing his course of suffering for Christ's sake is completing the process of ceasing from sin. In other words, suffering for Christ's sake transforms the Believer from sin-FULL to sin-LESS; suffering for Christ's sake perfects Believers.

Left on our own, our species would undoubtedly swallow itself whole in greed and debauchery. But there is One who comes to us with a different way. Like the sun breaking through the clouds, he brings warmth and life and a way out of the mire.
