Discouragement! - How To Fight It! - 0 views

  •
One of the Devil's favourite "devices", or tools that he uses with Christians, is DISCOURAGEMENT! If he can't keep you from getting SAVED and giving your life to Jesus, then he will do his best to try to DISCOURAGE you so you give up and QUIT serving the Lord or telling others about Him!-And his favourite way of trying to discourage most of us is by getting us to look at our own mistakes, sins, weakness and failures, looking at OURSELVES instead of the LORD!

God's Power can Only be Perceived through the Eyes of Faith « Reflections in ... - 0 views

  •
If we, by faith, accept the God described in the Bible, then we know that nothing can stop God's overarching will for and in this world. Therefore, every circumstance of life must work together to execute God's plans. Even the evil that men choose to do cannot escape His inexorable (unstoppable) will from being accomplished. It is only with this understanding that we can have hope rather than despair in the various tragedies, big and small, that beset our lives.

Miracles of Jesus: The Blind Man from Bethsaida « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Only as transformation (i.e., sanctification) takes place can we start to prove (know with certainty) the will of God. Without transformation/sanctification we cannot know God's will. And so we stumble, taking uncertain steps in life: never quite sure what we are about, or what to do or where to go and how to get there. We have the Light but not the Sight.

Encounters with Jesus: The Rich Young Ruler « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Is Salvation valuable enough to give up everything to get it?… For Salvation to come to our lives, it must displace everything from our lives… If Salvation means ANYTHING to us, it must be EVERYTHING to us. How much are you willing to lose just to get Salvation? How much is too much to lose to get Salvation?

Anger Management « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
…Anger management takes practice and deliberate effort. However, we should always remember that God is on OUR side. As we develop the habit of constantly communicating with Him, as we practice seeking His will in everything, as we learn to live within His hedge of protection, we will gradually learn how to draw strength from Him when we are sorely aggravated. We CAN win the battle…

One Bible = One Belief: The Dilemma of Biblical Authenticity « Reflections in... - 0 views

  •
Salvation requires faith in the true God, the God described by the authentic Scripture. If we do not believe in the God of the Scripture, then we are not saved by the God of the Scripture. Every god defines his/her/its own terms of salvation. The God of the pure unabridged Scriptures defines His terms too. If we do not like His salvation plan, we are free to construct our own god from the parts of the scripture we find convenient to our lifestyle and philosophy. But, make no mistake, that god is NOT the God of the Bible.

BUILDING A SPIRITUAL WALL: Five Imperatives of Spiritual Growth « Reflections... - 0 views

  •
Despite the damage sin does to us spiritually and physically, the Blood of Jesus Christ washes us clean and makes us new. From human eyes, it might not look like much, but we have everything we need to build up our spiritual wall of salvation. And that wall is indestructible, because God is its architect. Therefore, if/when we fall into sin let us not doubt our spiritual growth (if indeed we have been growing!). Rather, we should keep an eye on the gates watching and praying so that the enemy does not infiltrate our spiritual wall and lead us into temptation (Mark 14:38).

Branch Treatment: Turning Water from Bitter to Sweet « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
As we seek to make daily life decisions the key question is NOT, "Is this solution good for me?" The key question is, "Is Jesus in it?" In other words, instead of seeking "a solution", we seek Jesus for He alone has the RIGHT solution.

Be ALL you SHOULD Be | Part 1: A DEFENCED CITY « Reflections in the WORD - 0 views

  •
Nothing we do of our own strength can protect us from the evils of this world… But, while we are walking in God's will, though the evil of the world may touch us, it can't defeat us, because a believer's victory is not in earthly security, it is in eternal security. Our victory isn't in physical safety, it is in spiritual strength: we are victorious when God's will is accomplished in us, not when we escape the travails/struggles of life.

Reading the Bible Chronologically - 0 views

  •
The following is a reading plan that I developed for some newer disciples / followers of Jesus to help them get a good picture of what is going on in Scripture from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22. Our English Bibles do not follow a clear chronological order (particularly in the Old Testament), so many people who read the Bible straight through aren't able to, say, summarize the Biblical narrative as a whole. This is a bit of a problem as I believe that a developing healthy understanding of the Bible's story (and my/your place in it) is an essential component of discipleship.
